We Lit Academy is more than a learning space — it is a literacy movement that reimagines how children experience reading.

 

Founded by educator, author, and literacy advocate LaDonna N. Smith, We Lit Academy was created to make reading exciting, empowering, and accessible for every child. Through music, storytelling, creativity, play, and innovative programming, we transform literacy into something children want to be part of — not something they are forced to do.

 

Our work is rooted in joy, culture, and community. We believe that when children see themselves reflected in books, stories, and learning experiences, their confidence grows, their curiosity expands, and their love for reading takes root.
